Pride

On Friday, June 26th 2015 the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in favor of marriage equality.  Love would have persevered regardless of federal acknowledgement, but legal recognition grants a collection of rights that are long overdue.  A member of the LGBT community is now allowed to visit their spouse in a hospital and make medical decisions if he or she should become incapacitated.  They have equality in the eyes of the law in relation to taxes, social security, and inheritance.

These rights are incredibly important, but this ruling wasn't just about spousal rights.  It was about opening up the definition of how we all see ourselves fitting into society.  It was about dignity and inclusion.  It was about love.  For those not in a relationship, it opens up a whole new path that was previously not available depending on the particular state of residence.  It's an implicit opening of the arms.

This collection of images will be ever growing and is dedicated to the LGBT community who has been denied for far too long.
